More than bags in the hole

So you think this game is all about throwing bags in holes?

If you read this title, and that's what you believe, I want you to know. You are completely and totally wrong. Yes we all love playing the game and the competition involved, that's a big part of it. The part that you are missing and the most important part of this game is the community it has developed.

Not getting it? Let me explain a little bit. Let's talk about a certain Facebook page, that you are likely a member of, it's got about 68k people on it and it's based around a game with bags and wood boards. This is a shit talking rowdy group of people. You know what you are guaranteed to see on there every day? No it's not somebody asking the best way to break in sure fires, that's probably there too though. It's a advertisement for a tournament for charity.

This group of wild, competitive, mouthy, men and women, are a group of big hearted mother f'ers. These people, when they see somebody in there local communities that need help, you know what they think? Let's combined a game that we love and make it do some good for some people.

From the people directly involved with the equipment of this game, to the novice, they all contribute. Some people do it in a way of, just showing up to a tournament, they know they have zero chance of winning, but playing because they know their money is going to a good cause.

Let's look at Patrick McCracken, now some people think this is just another wise ass from the northeast. This guys was just a normal guy working for the underrated school system. He got involved with a podcast, and used his influence to start a charity that gets schools and kids involved in cornhole! Then Jason McCannon of fire cornhole, donated bags to that charity.

I cannot tell you how many times I have gone on a bags makers website or Facebook, and there are bags set up where proceeds go to a charity. There is even a bag maker who's whole moto is #morethanbags. I urge you to go check these out and shout out all the bag makers doing this.

How about waffles? Oh I mean raffles. Go check out how many rafflers are going on to help a person, family, or community in need. Look at how many donations there are for these things.

Lastly, look at how quick a bag manufacturer reached out to help a couple of great guys in our community, when they lost a loved one. It was almost instant.

So you think this game is about 4 baggers? Absolutely not! This game is more about family than anything else. For those of you that already embrace this. We thank you for all that you do and all the ways you give back. For those of you that are new here. We look forward to you joining in this, tough love, but truly caring community…… welcome to the family.

Be sure to shout out people for all the good they have done here in the comments!
